Sr. Auditor/ Certified Fraud Examiner
Angelica joined BRI Consulting Group, Inc. in 2014 as a Staff Auditor after receiving her Master of Science in Accountancy from the Sam Houston State University. During her six years with BRI, she has participated in both domestic and international audit assignments including projects based in Israel, Qatar and Canada.
Domestic assignments have largely been focused in the energy industry and include working as both a lead and assist auditor. Angelica has participated in Joint Venture audits of BP, Anadarko, ENI and other major oil and gas Operators doing business in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico and onshore shale plays in West Texas.
As a lead auditor, Angelica has conducted hundreds of Contract Compliance reviews involving most of the major service providers actively engaged in the oil and gas industry. These have included Halliburton, Weatherford, Baker Hughes and many small to midsized service providers.
Domestic duties have included scheduling, budgeting, data analysis, preparing audit programs, leading/managing both Contract Compliance and Joint Venture audits, report-writing and the preparation of the audit work papers. She has also been actively involved in the training and mentoring of new staff members.
International experience has included Joint Venture audits of major projects based off the coasts of Israel. Her Contract Compliance experience has consisted largely of work involving projects in Qatar.
In addition to conducting audits, Angelica has also assisted clients with extensive research for audit rebuttals and resolution. She has extensive experience with the COPAS Accounting Procedures, Model Form Interpretations, auditing procedures, concepts and techniques. She is proficient with SAP, data analysis and manipulation.
She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and currently pursuing her Public Accounting Certification. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the Houston ACFE Chapter. Angelica is fluent in English and Spanish.
