Steven Wofford is an Audit Manager with BRI Consulting Group, Inc. In this role, he serves as a main point of contact for the clients and oversees the audit staff. He is responsible for working with the clients and auditees to obtain all documentation needed to conduct the audits. Steven also is responsible for scheduling and budgeting audits; managing client status reports; reviewing, revising, and finalizing audit reports; following-up with clients, auditors, and auditees on the status of outstanding audits, reports, and rebuttals; maintaining positive client relationships; training new employees and contractors; and developing and improving existing audit programs for established and new clients. In addition to his managerial duties, Steven also works as a lead auditor on both domestic and international audit assignments.

Steven specializes in Contract Compliance (Supplier/Vendor) auditing and Joint Venture auditing. He also has experience in Revenue audits, Gross Receipts Tax audits, and special projects with clients when specific risks or concerns need to be addressed.

Steven has been with BRI Consulting Group since 2005 and has over fourteen years of external auditing experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. His work experience includes domestic auditing as well as international assignments in fourteen countries located in Canada, Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Steven has successfully worked on all sizes and complexities of audits ranging from small Contract Compliance audits to managing multibillion-dollar audit programs and has consistently produced results, process improvements, and recoveries for the clients. Throughout his tenure with BRI, Steve’s successful performance and significant recoveries have led to repeat engagements at the request of the clients.

Steven’s extensive work experience and work ethic has helped to develop and improve audit standards and procedures for both BRI and BRI’s clients. BRI is focused on meeting our client’s needs and Steven plays a key role interfacing with our valued clients.

Steven has been an active member of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston (PASH) and the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) since 2014 and holds a BBA in Accounting from Sam Houston State University.
